Jesus, Forgiveness, Healing, Grace, Mercy, Redemption are all words that are associated with Christianity but the understanding of them is being lost today's world.
The Real Jesus
So there are as many versions of Jesus in the world as there are Second-Hand Christians (Click to read ‘First and Second hand Christians' if required) but this is not such a bad thing, at least people have heard of him - and that's an important point in itself.
At his Last Supper Jesus told his disciples that he would never leave them but would always be with them in Spirit. St John reported this in his Gospel with Jesus saying to them - " I will not abandon you or leave you as orphans in the storm - I will come to you. In just a little while I will be gone from the world, but I will still be present with you. For I will live again—and you will too. When I come back to life again, you will know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you." (John Ch 14: 18 to 20. Living Bible)
These verses are a very important for a number of reasons, the first being the promise made by Jesus that he would come back to life again. This he did on the third day and later appeared to the disciples, and many others, to prove the point. The second important reason is found in his promise that he would not abandon them or leave them as orphans. This second promise to never leave them is confirmed by St Matthew when he quoted the Risen Jesus' giving some final instructions to his disciples saying - “I have been given all authority in heaven and earth. Therefore go and make disciples in all the nations, baptizing them into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and then teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you; and be sure of this—that I am with you always, even to the end of the world.” (Matthew Ch 28 :18 to 20 Living Bible) So here we have a promise that he would remain a ‘Real Jesus' and be present with his disciples always.
In my lived experience, and that of many others that I know, Jesus goes even further and extends this promise to everybody who sees a need for him to be part of their lives.
To recap, we can read and talk about this 'Who we would like him to be Jesus' until the cows come home and yet never know him on a personal basis. But I can assure you, Reader, that the 'Real Jesus' is as real as a member of your family or your best friend and he is as close to you as a simple prayer away. The purpose of this web site is for you to meet with him and have an experience of his presence in your life.
